Newsletter March & April 2011 Van Buren ATV Club PO Box 473 Van Buren, ME 04785 Hello Club Members, Our 2010 club season went well. Lots of work was done at our picnic site, garage, parking area and trails. The signs are looking great at our sites and trails. Thanks to all our volunteers that made this possible. Now its time to get ready for the 2011 ATV Season.
This Newsletter is for March & April. This provides a 30 day notice of elections according to the by-laws. Next Newsletter will be May 1.
NOTICE
CLUB MEETING & ELECTION WILL BE, APRIL 6, 2011, AT 7:00 PM; AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER ON CHAMPLAIN STREET.
We have 8 positions to fill, they are: President - 1 yr Secretary - 2 yrs Trail Master - 2 yrs 2 Directors - 2 yrs 3 Assistant Trail Masters - 1 yr
Nominations will be taken at the meeting. Please consider running for any of these positions. Come and support those who will be running.
Our Banquet in November went well. The food & music was great. I would like to thank all our members, landowners and guest that attended the banquet. And those who sold and purchased Raffle Tickets. Also a Big Thank You to the Businesses who donated door prizes.
Our Annual Raffle winners were: First Prize: $300.00 Joel Michaud - Van Buren Second Prize: $200.00 Velma Ouellette - Van Buren Third Prize: $100.00 Bernita Ouellette - Grand Isle
Our 2010 Honorary Member of the year went to Percy Madore. This is a free lifetime membership. Congratulations Percy.
The Van Buren Pine Runners ATV Club was featured on “Club Profile Series” of The March Issue of Dirt Wheels Magazine. Thank you Dirt Wheels Magazine for the publicity and to Dean Grivois for providing the info and photos.
As for now atv trails are closed until May 15.

Hello Club Members; Our next club meeting will be Wednesday October 6; at 7:00 PM; at the Community Center on Champlain Street.
Our September hot dog roast went well and we had a big crowd on hand. I would like to thank those who hosted the hot dog roast; Velma Ouellette, Dean Grivois, Andy Gendreau, Keith Martin, Harold Cormier & Lisa Berry, Devin Berry, Michelle Gagnon & Anne Violette. Also to Mike Gagnon for sales of hats & shirts & Rodney Soucy for sales of half & half tickets. Thank you very much.
The winner of the half & half was Keith Martin; he won $195.00. Congratulations!!!
Our Banquet is on November 6; at the American Legion Hall. This is our Supper & Recognition and Dance Night. Social hour will be from 5:00 to 6:00; Supper from 6:00 to 7:00; Recognition from 7:30 to 8:45 and Dance from 9:00 to 11:30 with DJ; Steve Doucette of Fort Kent. Our Annual Raffle drawing will be before the dance.
Our cater this year is Cater All, Steve & Cindy Doucette. The menu is roast beef, ham, chicken fingers, corn, peas, macaroni salad, watergate salad, fried rice, scalloped potatoes, beans, dinner rolls & sheet cake. Tickets for the meals are $10.00 per plate. This is a catered meal; so we need to know how many plates to order by Sunday October 31. We will have tickets for guest at the same price. You can purchased your tickets at the club meeting or from the club directors.
This year it was voted at the August meeting to mail all members 2 booklets of tickets to buy or sell. This is our major fund raiser of the year. If you can buy or sell your books, it would be very much appreciated. The drawing is for cash. It’s something we can all use. If anyone would like extra books to sell, please let me know.
The month of October is one of the best months to ride. Fall Foliage is beautiful. Enjoy and ride safe.
